1. A good poster and visuals. The presentation should be practiced over so it will be ready when the judges come.

2. The problem I had was the time. My judge didn't come until 5;45 and I had to be to work at 6;00. Also, my slideshow didn't play. It said my computer needed an adobe player and I downloaded but it didn't play.

3. Capstone can be improved by not making the paper 15 pages also starting to work on the project earlier. More judges should be there so students don't have to be there so late.

Presentation

I will have a small stand so my poster can stand on. During the presentation I will just show them my end product (career ladder) which is on my website. I will have a small binder that will be displayed with my paper in it. At the end I will give the judges a brochure and peppermint :)

My topic is nursing shortage, my tech components is
 brochure: showing the different types of nursing and schools that offer those classes.
Website: this will provide a ladder to those wanting to become a nurse and the different steps there is to be a successful nurse.

PSA/AD

Nursing Shortage is an important issue in the United States. Out of the top ten states, Texas is ranked number 6. There are many factors contributing to the shortage and one is the lack of individuals wanting to be a nurse. Some people cannot afford to go to college or simply do not know the requirements of becoming a nurse. My idea is to create a website showing the ladder of becoming a nurse. It will provide information about tuition and what kind of nurses there are. I also, will include different pathways if the school is not affordable.

My capstone topic is nursing shortages so I aiming for a catching poster to get more people interested in the nursing field. I want images of men and women , young and old so that it shows diversity for the audience.

Mon. Poster evaluation

I learned how to make posters clear and neat. This will come in handy when making the capstone poster because I will need to get my message across in a simple way.

I am researching some pictures of nursing shortages.

Poster

I choose this image because I eat soup a lot and the information I found about BPA in cans was interesting.
My image was chosen because it is a soup can.
The colors was green an yellow for toxic and deadly.
The facts I put was very simple, I didn't want to clog the poster with a lot of words.
The title just came to mind because I was talking about food. "think before you eat" can catch the viewers attention.
I chose the font because it was very bold and gave an idea of scary or evil. Since BPA is harmful, I chose a hunting font.

Today we talked about making posters.The poster will describe the hormone disruptors and how it is effecting the society.

p90x

We analyzed the website P90X. We grouped up and focused on each different part of building the website. My group had the marketing of the website. We focused on how they are getting their message out there and making their money. For example, they had pictures of real men and women and their result. P90X marketing stands out and they have many factors.

Capstone Topic

My topic for the the capstone project

Nursing Shortages, I want to create a database that will inform students about the nursing field. This website will include different colleges that are good for this field and the scholarships they offer. Basically it will be a whole summary for the student to look at and get more information about becoming a nurse. That way they will have an insight on what nursing is about and my consider doing this field.

What's wrong with Capstone?

I do not like this class because it requires too much. You have to do service learning and write a 15 page paper. Another thing I do not like about Capstone is the professors who teach it. They can be really rude and not very helpful. Capstone is really a waste of time, it should be a class that you can take if you want to. It should not be a requirement. Also, you have to do a presentation at the end of the semester and that is dumb. Most people have careers that does not have economic issues , so it should not be a requirement that you have to do a presentation on an economic issue. Senior Capstone professor's always want you to write unnecessary papers and make them due they next day they tell you to write it. Overall, I think capstone is a complete waste of time we can be spending that time on an elective and making high school actually fun.
